Coworking and serviced offices come to Blackheath

The Workspace – which has branches in Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal and soon, Cape Town – offers flexible and affordable alternatives to traditional offices, with state of the art facilities, great service and comfortable, well-finished spaces to work and collaborate.

Mari Schourie, CEO of The Workspace, says Blackheath was chosen as the company’s next area of focus due to its location, which is close to the N1, just off Beyers Naude Drive and opposite the popular Cresta shopping centre.

“Our location is central, so it makes so much sense for the business owner or entrepreneur to have an office close to gym, shops, a network of roads and schools,” she says.

Schourie says the upmarket, buzzy and busy area is also home to lots of businesses, many of them operated from homes in the area. As she points out, working from home can be a lonely business.

Part of a community

“We offer a fantastic service with a community base that is extremely important to us; when you are part of The Workspace, you are part of a community,” she says. “You are not just a number to us. We accommodate all different types of people, cultures, industries and we are always open to change to enable our members and to assist them in growing their businesses.”

It was interesting to note a report on the recent Global Coworking Unconference Conference that took place in New York, Schourie says. It said, “Coworking goes far beyond providing workspace. One in four Americans doesn’t have anyone to talk to, and that includes family members. Coworking provides people with a network of professional and personal support.”

Schourie says clients of The Workspace love its flexibility and the fact that it doesn’t have any hidden costs, with packages starting at R950 a month. “Networking is a big deal for many of our clients so our community manager assists them with generating income within and between our branches. They like the fact that they can commute between our branches and use our different facilities too. It’s a more social environment,” she says.

The Workspace in Blackheath offers 46 fully-serviced offices and coworking spaces. It is also beautifully appointed with high-end finishes.
“Our design is very upmarket and warm; it’s cozy but also has a touch of elegance and the comfortable feel of home. We went with a nice, earthy vibe,” Schourie says.

She invites people interested in exploring the idea of coworking or serviced offices to visit any of The Workspace branches “knowing you will have a warm welcome and superb service. Let us show you the future of work!”

The Workspace is situated at Unit 1 Pendorning Office Park, Blackheath, Johannesburg.

Mari Schourie is CEO of The Workspace, part of the InteSpace group, provider of flexible space solutions, including XtraSpace SelfStorage, XtraSpace FlexiOffice, SpaceBox, ACT Logistics, Big Box, Container Agents and Multibox in Mauritius.
